  Just got an apology from an exJW

  so i'm back from the store walking to my apartment, over a hundred units in the complex - all jws and ex-jws - and i see someone talking to an ex-jw neighbor of mine.

  she turns around and says "now there's some else i have to apologize to".. she identified herself as an old neighbor who used to play as a jw child right by my place.

  she had told me how she was raised to consider me and all the ex-jws in the apartment complex as evil and thought she had to apologize for that.. made my day.

  I read that as well. It sort of takes away the notion of people getting more intelligent over the centuries. It was there all along. Of course as we move farther from "perfection" we get dumber. Good ol' Watchtower bullshit.

  SW, two elders come first to "investigate". This will be your shepherding call. They will feel you out to see if what your husband has privately told them is true. I know he said he wouldn't but remember its your everlasting salvation at stake and he loves you. Of course you know him so this may be wrong on my part. Either way, those two elders can serve as witnesses in a JC against you so play the part well and let it fall. If he is removed as an elder it may be the injustice that will open his eyes, especially if you remain a good and loving companion no matter what they say.

  Is this a true statement? Elders that are DF will be reinstated much quicker than the average publisher.

  back in the early 70's there was a brother, well known in the circuit did the no no with.

  a few of the young sisters in the congregation.

  he was df and the word, he would never be.

  I know of one CO who was once DF'd, long before he was appointed CO. Haven't met any elders who were out and in though. It happens I am sure.

  My wife made a very wordly comment the other night

  my wife who is currently on maternity leave made a comment about luck she was to leave in canada because we get 52 weeks maternity at basically 40,000 per year.

  she is not originally from canada coming from a country with basically no maternity leave.

  i told her to make sure she doesn't say anything like that at kh.

  Sure maternity leave is great but I hear you have to wait in line in order to have a baby! Long lines for healthcare there and its sub standard. We can't have that here in the land of the free and the home of the brave!

  $10 per pub. Money begging session last night

  last night, during our "christian life and ministry" meeting, we had a session on local needs.

  elder opened the talk with a disclaimer saying that this was a reminder (cited psalms about how david loved jehovahs reminders).

  he reminded us of how bless we are of having our own local assembly hall.

  Remember, the circuit elders add a large donation to the society to each assembly cost. Each individual assembly. This amount is considered when the accounting is done and if it is not met it is announced as "This assembly had not met its costs." So its bullshit to say that local money wasn't provided for maintenance, it was diverted and more is being asked. They are merely insuring their donations remain static from the assemblies. Such bullshit. It always struck me as dishonest to consider a fixed donation that the publishers didn't know about in the budget report to the attendees of a Circuit Assembly. The A. Hall might need only 2000.00 for the assembly but they needed 3000.00 more for the designated donation to the worldwide work. Jerks.

  New way to fade?

  a brother in a local congregation has successfully faded, no announcements or judicial hearings that anyone has heard of.. his immediate family are all out, but they have lots of family still in.. if he had joined another religion, or the army, or put up christmas lights, likely the elders would be hounding them like crazy.. but no, he has accepted evolution(it seems to be common knowledge).. i would have thought this would be a disfellowshipping offense, but lots of time has passed, and they just leave them all alone..

  We were taught the primary application of any scripture was the anointed. I always felt like the Bible wasn't talking to me except when it had to do with what I should or shouldn't do. Ugh. To be associated with the ones who it was written for was the hook, you could be in cahoots with those guys! Wow! It's part of the programming I think. Now I think it was written for tribe members from long ago who have no bearing on me.

  so, a few years ago my jw parents, my non jw sister and her husband, and myself were discussing religion and jw beliefs.

  my parents of course defending the jw's, the rest of us, against jw's ( it may not have been specifically against jw's, maybe just religion in general) anyway, things are getting a little heated, and i finally ask my pops, if the watchtower bible and tract society told you to go out and start killing muslims, would you do it?

  yes i would, was his reply, to which i say, then your not any different than the radical muslims killing in the name of religion.
